The sun was shining, the sky was clear, and Mother Nature gifted us with comfortable temperatures in the low 80s, creating the perfect setting for an outdoor ceremony surrounded by trees, warm light, and the people who mean the most to them.
As a Certified Wedding Planner and Wedding Coordinator based in the Indianapolis area, I have coordinated weddings across Central Indiana for more than 13 years, and I can confidently say that this wedding had the perfect blend of elegance, personality, and relaxed joy.
April and Jason created a day that felt romantic, personal, and incredibly welcoming for their guests. Every detail came together beautifully, from the ceremony space tucked into the woods to the reception filled with laughter, amazing food, and heartfelt moments.
A Bride Straight Out of a Fairy Tale
When April stepped into her wedding gown, there was a collective moment where everyone just paused. Her dress was absolutely breathtaking. It had the kind of timeless elegance that immediately makes you think of a fairy tale princess. The delicate lace details, the soft flowing skirt, and the way the dress caught the sunlight during their outdoor portraits made the entire look feel magical. April was truly stunning.
Her hair and makeup were beautifully done by Jenny Riley, whose work perfectly complemented April’s natural beauty. Jenny created a look that felt elegant but still soft and romantic, allowing April’s personality and joy to shine through in every photo.

The ceremony space is tucked among tall trees, creating a peaceful and intimate atmosphere that feels far away from the busy city, even though it is just minutes away. As guests arrived and took their seats, the string lights and natural surroundings created the perfect backdrop for the ceremony.
Our team provided wedding coordination and officiant services, ensuring that every part of the ceremony flowed smoothly and stress free for the couple.

One of the things guests always remember most about a wedding is the food. April and Jason chose a catering option that felt fun, relaxed, and incredibly delicious. Dashboard Food Truck served an amazing Mexican buffet that guests absolutely loved. The variety of flavors, fresh ingredients, and casual atmosphere added a unique touch to the reception. We are always impressed with Dashboard Food truck, Vanessa’s creative culinary menus allow couples to customize their reception to fit their personalities and style.
Cupcakes That Doubled as Centerpieces
Another creative detail from April and Jason’s wedding was their dessert display. Instead of a traditional wedding cake, they chose something that was both beautiful and practical. Molly’s Sociable Sweets created stunning cupcake bouquets that served a dual purpose.
They were displayed as centerpieces on guest tables, adding a pop of color and a beautiful design element to the reception decor. Then later in the evening, they became dessert. This idea was such a fun and creative way to combine decor and sweets while giving guests something delicious to enjoy.
Music That Kept the Celebration Going
No wedding reception is complete without great music and a great DJ! For April and Jason’s celebration, Nick from Complete Weddings and Events Indy kept the dance floor lively and fun throughout the evening. A great DJ does more than just play music.
They help guide the flow of the reception, manage announcements, and create the energy that keeps guests engaged and celebrating. Nick did an incredible job making sure the reception felt upbeat, and full of excitement. From the first dances to the open dance floor, guests were smiling, laughing, and enjoying every moment.
