A Little Middle-earth Magic at The Sixpence | Kiki & Scott's Wedding Day
Lord of the Rings, a woodland ceremony, incredible details, and a whole lot of personality!
I've been doing weddings for over 14 years, and let me tell you, just when I think I've seen it all, a couple comes along and completely blows me away with their creativity!
Enter Kiki and Scott!
These two are HUGE Lord of the Rings fans, and when I say they brought a little Middle-earth to their wedding day, I mean they went ALL IN! But here's what I loved most. Nothing felt cheesy or overdone. Everything was beautiful, intentional, a little whimsical, and completely THEM.
And can we talk about the weather? Sunshine, 74 degrees, and not a cloud threatening to ruin our plans. Indiana actually cooperated for once! LOL
A Woodland Ceremony Straight Out of a Storybook
The ceremony took place at The Grotto, tucked back in the woods behind The Sixpence in Whitestown, Indiana.

If you've never seen this ceremony space, it's gorgeous! Surrounded by trees, with the most beautiful natural setting, it couldn't have been a better backdrop for what Kiki and Scott had envisioned.
Their friend Aaron officiated the ceremony, and can I just say, Aaron, are you SURE you don't do this for a living? Because you absolutely nailed it!
The ceremony was personal, funny, and completely centered around the two of them.
Kiki and Scott exchanged their own vows, and they included a ring-warming ceremony with their wedding party and closest family members. But one of my favorite details was something they did for EVERY guest.
As guests arrived, each person received a small stone. During the ceremony, they were invited to hold their stone, make a wish, or send a good thought for Kiki and Scott's future. Afterward, the stones were collected in a bowl for the couple to keep and eventually display in a vase.
How sweet is that?!
Something so simple, but something they'll have in their home for years to come.

Can We Talk About Kiki's Dad, Mike?!
Okay, Mike. We need to talk. Because I think you might have missed your calling in wedding design! LOL
Kiki's dad built the most AMAZING seating chart and photo booth. And when I say built, I mean BUILT!
He also created all of the florals for the wedding. Yes. ALL OF THEM.
The creativity, the craftsmanship, the attention to detail. I was seriously impressed! Mike, if you ever decide to go into the wedding business, you might have a few planners calling you. Starting with me!
And what made it even better was knowing how much time and love went into creating these pieces for his daughter's wedding.

140 Guests and a Reception Full of Surprises
Now let's head inside The Sixpence, because WOW.
The reception was designed for approximately 140 guests, and I don't think there was a single table that didn't make me stop and look twice.
Kiki and Scott had thoughtfully designed everything, right down to the smallest details.
There were three different centerpiece styles throughout the room, featuring moss, mushrooms, fairy lights, candles, and florals.
It was like walking into an enchanted forest, but make it wedding reception! And somehow, all three designs worked beautifully together.

Every place setting included a blank piece of paper, a pen, and an envelope. Guests were invited to write a personal note to Kiki and Scott, which the couple will open and read on their first wedding anniversary.
I LOVE THIS IDEA!
Think about it. One year from now, they'll get to sit down together and read all those little notes from the people who celebrated with them.
There were also custom menus, beautifully designed signage, a game table for guests, and handmade soaps and hand sanitizers as wedding favors.
Not one detail was overlooked. This was easily one of the most creative and beautifully designed receptions we've seen in a long time.
Coffee Before the Ceremony? YES, PLEASE!
You know I love a good coffee, so when I saw Grace & Co. Mobile Coffee Bar pull up with their adorable coffee trailer, I was already a fan!
Guests were greeted with freshly made coffee as they arrived.
Lattes, iced coffees, Americanos, and specialty drinks selected by Kiki and Scott.

And let me tell you, the coffee was DELICIOUS!
But what impressed me just as much was how efficiently they handled the crowd. Friendly, professional, and keeping those drinks moving!
If you're looking for something a little different for your wedding or event, seriously consider a mobile coffee bar. It's fun, it's interactive, and your coffee-loving guests will thank you!
Let's Talk About the Dress!
Kiki found her dress at Something Blue Bridal, and it could not have been a more perfect choice.
It was stunning, but more importantly, it was SO KIKI. She looked like a princess in her own little realm, and you could tell she felt absolutely beautiful wearing it.
Kara Cantrell, the hair and makeup artist, did such a beautiful job bringing Kiki's vision together.
The ladies looked gorgeous! Classic, natural, polished, and not overly done. Everything complemented the style of the wedding perfectly.

Great Food, Costco Cake, and a Packed Dance Floor!
Let's talk food, because after approximately seven and a half hours of setup and being on our feet, this planning team was READY to eat! LOL
Jonathan Byrd's Catering provided dinner, with options including mashed potatoes, baked chicken, eggplant Parmesan, pasta salad, and additional sides.
Everything was delicious!
And dessert? COSTCO CAKE! Yes, you read that right!
Chocolate or vanilla, and guests were gobbling it up. Listen, I love a gorgeous wedding cake as much as anyone, but I also love when couples choose what THEY want instead of what everyone expects.
And who doesn't love a Costco cake?!
Now, let's talk about the party.
Higher Love Entertainment brought the music, and TK absolutely NAILED IT!
I've worked with a lot of DJs over the years, and TK is phenomenal. She knew exactly how to read the room, keep the energy going, and keep that dance floor PACKED!
They also provided cold sparks and dancing on the clouds for Kiki and Scott's first dance. Picture that for a second. A beautiful couple, their first dance, clouds across the floor, and sparks lighting up the moment.
It was incredible!
The Vendors Who Helped Bring It All Together
One of my favorite parts of wedding coordination is working alongside vendors who genuinely care about what they're doing. And this team was fantastic!
Jessica Dee Photography captured the day, and I am anxiously awaiting her gallery!
You could tell Jessica understood exactly what Kiki and Scott were going for. She knew the vibe, understood the details, and knew what needed to be captured. I have a feeling those photos are going to blow us away!
Kevin Riley Films handled videography, and I cannot WAIT to see what he puts together. There was so much personality and so many incredible details throughout this wedding that I know the finished film is going to be something special.
Rockstar Limos provided the party shuttle, and I have to give a shout-out to Michelle!
With road closures creating some transportation challenges, Michelle was fantastic about keeping me updated on arrival times throughout the day.
I've worked with her before, and she's a rockstar all on her own! And of course, the staff at The Sixpence.
They were absolutely wonderful to work with. Everyone worked together, communicated, and kept Kiki and Scott at the center of every decision. That's exactly how a wedding vendor team should operate!
10+ Miles, 6 Hours of Setup, 12 hour day, and One Incredible Wedding!
Now, here's a little behind-the-scenes look at what wedding coordination actually involves.
Our team provided full wedding coordination services for Kiki and Scott, and we were there making sure all those incredible ideas came together exactly as planned.
And let me tell you, there were A LOT of details!
From managing vendor arrivals and setup to coordinating transportation, ceremony logistics, reception details, timelines, and everything happening behind the scenes, we had our hands full.
We logged OVER 10 MILES on our feet that day!
TEN. MILES. Who needs a gym membership during wedding season?! LOL But every single step was worth it.
Because here's the thing. Kiki and Scott had put so much thought, time, and creativity into their wedding. They deserved to actually experience it, not spend the day worrying about where something needed to go, whether a vendor had arrived, or who was handling the next part of the timeline.
That's where we come in.
Our job was to take everything they had planned and make it happen while they enjoyed their day with the people they love. And that's exactly what we did!
Kiki & Scott, Thank You!
I don't think I'll ever forget this wedding.
Not just because of the gorgeous setting, the Lord of the Rings inspiration, the mushrooms, the fairy lights, or the incredible details.
But because everything about this day represented Kiki and Scott. Their personalities. Their creativity. Their love for each other. Their families and friends.
It was whimsical, magical, a little unexpected, and absolutely beautiful.
Kiki and Scott, THANK YOU!
Thank you for allowing me to step inside your world, get to know you both, and be part of something so incredibly personal and intentional.
You trusted us with a day that you had clearly put your hearts into, and I cannot tell you how much I appreciate that.
And Mike, seriously, call me if you decide to start designing weddings! LOL
Congratulations, Kiki and Scott!
